Newton seeks 1 civil, 1 electrical, 1 mechanical engineer, each Newton residents to serve on their Design Review Committee.
More information about serving on the Newton Design Review Committee:
Conflict of interest issues
A firm currently working for Newton DPW or doing private sector projects subject to approval of other boards in Newton could serve on this committee. There is a standard conflict of interest form that the City of Newton asks a designer to fill out for situation where a conflict may be present. If there is a conflict, the designer would typically recuse him/herself from the decision-making on that particular project.
There is a current need for civil, electrical and mechanical engineers to serve on the Design Review Committee - the engineers should be Newton residents.
Time commitment
One evening meeting a month though occasionally there may be a second meeting when there are more projects. When design drawings are produced they are circulated in advance so that individual members can review them and bring comments to the meetings.
