The Massachusetts Port Authority Designer Selection Panel (DSP) is seeking resumes from diverse candidates who are Professional Engineers or Registered Architects licensed in and residing in Massachusetts for 2 openings on the DSP, and one (1) professional representing the Construction Industry.
If your firm does works for Massport and is planning to be part of proposals submitted to the DSP, even as subconsultant to a prime designer, you should not apply.
The Massachusetts Port Authority Designer Selection Panel (DSP) is an autonomous 13-member board that selects consultants for design services for buildings on all Massport properties.
The DSP reviews qualification applications (proposals) for building design services for contracts, shortlists three finalists, and proceeds for final selection.
Six members of the Board are independent professionals: four (4) members are Massachusetts registered architects and/or professional engineers, Architect Emeritus, Certified Planners by the American Institute of Certified Planners (www.planning.org/aicp/), or from Academia (limited to 1), recommended by the Massachusetts Society of Professional Engineers, the American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts, the Boston Society of Civil Engineers Section/ASCE, the Army Corp of Engineers, the American Institute of Certified Planners, the Society of Military Engineers or the Boston Society of Architects; one (1) member is a representative of the construction industry recommended by the Construction Industries of Massachusetts or the Associated General Contractors; and one (1) member is a representative of the public sector who shall be chosen from the general public.

Job Description for the Massachusetts Port Authority Design Selection Panel:
Title: Member, Designer Selection Panel
Reports to: DSP Chairperson
Purpose: To serve the Board Chairperson as a voting member; Review and adopt written criteria for evaluation of applicants (including probable subconsultants, if any) for a particular design services contract. The DSP reviews SF 330 for building design services contracts.
Term: 2 years; opportunity for re-appointment for another 2-year term.
Expected Meeting Attendance:
The DSP meets on an as needed basis for 2 hours at the Logan Office Center, or virtually, as needed. Free parking is available in the lots before and after the Logan Office Center building.
