The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority’s Designer Selection Panel (DSP) is seeking resumes from Professional Engineers licensed in and residing in Massachusetts for 1 opening on its Designer Selection Panel.
The Authority’s Designer Selection Panel (DSP) is an autonomous 6-member board that selects designers for Authority construction projects.
The DSP reviews designer applications for Authority construction projects The DSP then forwards its recommendations in writing to the Authority’s Board which has authority to appoint and contract with the selected firm.
The Authority’s DSP members are appointed by the Authority’s Board, two of whom are registered architects, one registered engineer (PE licensed in Massachusetts), one person experienced in building construction, and one representative of the public.
This is an important Public Board. The Authority needs PE candidates, licensed in and living in MA, who do not have conflicts of interest to apply for appointment by the Authority’s Board.
The DSP meets on an as needed basis, sometimes up to four times per year, usually on a weekday afternoon for about an hour or so usually at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in South Boston. Some provisions may be made for virtual attendance at some meeting for DSP members. DSP members are paid $350 per appearance. If you are interested in applying to serve, please see below for details. Title: Member, Massachusetts Convention Center Authority’s Designer Selection Panel
Reports to: DSP Chair
Purpose: The DSP reviews designer applications for Authority construction projects. The DSP then forwards its recommendations in writing to the Authority’s Board which has authority to appoint and contract with the selected firm.
MCCA Designer Selection Procedures
Term: One year (June 15, 2022 through June 14, 2023) with the possibility of a second consecutive two-year term (June 15, 2022 through June 14, 2024) at the discretion of the Authority.
Expected Meeting Attendance:
Regularly attend DSP meetings as scheduled (about 2-4/year). The Authority provides a parking space to Board members for the duration of the meetings.
