The presentation will include a review of the Port Miami Tunnel project, a highly complex project which was built through a public-private partnership (P3) that includes the design, build, finance, operation and maintenance. Other topics will include P3 projects and corporate social responsibility (CSR). The award winning Port of Miami Tunnel boasts a number of firsts, the first Public-Private Partnership developed in the State of Florida, the largest soft ground bored roadway tunnel completed in North America, the first use of ground freezing as temporary support in Florida and one of the most extensive ground treatment programs done in Florida.
